Grade 11 and 12 Timetable Course Requests
Students will begin the afternoon at 12:15 in Connect. All students will then run through a mini timetable.
Student timetables are thoughtfully constructed after a thorough process, including course selection presentations to all students, students' entering preferred course selections in PowerSchool, guidance counsellors meeting individually with all students to review their course selection, and all timetables reviewed and balanced by guidance to support student learning and wellness. Please note that students' course selection directly impacts staffing decisions, and all timetables are subject to change prior to the first day of school. Any change requested, if granted, may also result in changing other course placements in your timetable.
Students are permitted to enter 1 timetable request via form. Students must use their CBE email to access the form. Guidance counsellors will review all timetable requests in the order in which they are received. All timetable requests must be submitted via the online form shared below.
Here are guidelines for students who submit a timetable request:
o Only grade 11 and 12 students will be permitted course changes.
o We accept timetable change requests for grade 11 and 12 in limited .
circumstances:
- Supporting course off-levelling ie.Math 20-1 to Math-2 -
-Meeting high school graduation requirements, or
-Fulfilling post-secondary admission requirements.
o Courses cannot be moved to different periods because of other commitments unless these have already been discussed with your counsellor or Assistant Principal. Students are expected to be available for classes during the times they are scheduled and for all periods of the 4 period school day.
o This form will ensure that counsellors receive and address every students’ request. Only one request is necessary. Once you have submitted you will not be able to change it or submit again. Be thorough and thoughtful with your explanation of requests. Further emails or phone calls to counsellors may not receive a response in time for start-up.
o Counsellors will only contact you if there are questions regarding your schedule. Please be patient and check PowerSchool often for changes to your schedule. If the change you have requested is not made before the first day of school it means your counsellor has looked and it is not possible due to your schedule, class capacities, balancing class sizes, etc. Go to the class on your schedule.
o If your counsellor needs to see you in person to discuss timetable concerns, a course named "See Counsellor" will be added to your schedule. Only those students will be seen during the first 4 days of school. All other requests will be through this online form.
o Timetable requests should be communicated only via form.
Timetable Request form will be available from Thursday, August 21st- Wednesday, September 3rd @ 4 PM. To create space for Guidance Counsellors to respond to requests, Guidance Counsellors will prioritize meetings for students who have a "See Counsellor" note on their timetable upon students return to school if needed.
***Please note that we will not be accepting any Grade 10 Timetable Requests***
