Social Studies courses explore relationships among individuals in various societies and between societies. You examine cultural, economic, ethical, legal, and political issues that communities face. These courses focus on understanding: who am I, what kind of society do I want, and how do I and others shape our world?

Credits: The following Social Studies courses are 5 credits.

  • 50% minimum is required to progress to the next level in a sequence

At RTHS, Social Studies 10 and 20 is a blended course that accommodates students at -1, -2 and -4 levels, but is generally taught at the -1 level to give all students the opportunity to work at their highest academic level possible. However, any student identified as a -2 or -4 learner will receive interventions, accommodations and differentiated tasks that reflect the different curriculum.  Student achievement level is an ongoing conversation involving students, teachers and families, and movement between the -1, -2 and -4 levels happens throughout Social Studies 10 and 20.
