Holiday Hampers

Thank you to those who were able to donate to our Helping Hand for Holiday Hampers.  We are still in need of some Fast Food/Dining Gift Cards.  If you are able to, please drop off these items to the office by noon on Monday, December 16th.  Thank you in advance for your generosity and care of others!!

 

Key Club – Hot Chocolate Sales

The Key will be selling Hot Chocolate next week in the Space before and at lunch.  The cost is $2.00 and all proceeds will go to the Children’s Cottage Society.

 

Winter Gala

Please join us next Wednesday for our Winter Gala.  Doors open at 6pm and the show begins at 6:30pm.  There will be an Art Walk and Culinary Treats for sale pre-show and at intermission.  We hope to see you there.

January Schedule

 

Please find attached our January 2025 Diploma Exam and Assessment Plan.  Students not being asked in for Credit Recovery, Diploma Prep or Diploma Exams are not expected to attend. ALP, PLP, and TASC/CSSI programs run on a regular weekly schedule until January 23, 2025.  All students will return to Semester 2 classes on Tuesday, January 28th, 2025.

 

Success Center

 

Math 30-1 & Math 30-2 Free Diploma Prep

The YMCA is offering free diploma prep sessions online and in-person on January 2nd, 3rd, and 10th. Please see the attachment to sign up via the QR code and for additional details. 

 

Semester 2 Timetable Requests

Grade 11 and 12 students requesting a timetable change for semester 2 courses are recommended to book an appointment with their colour community guidance counsellor or drop in during Focus or Lunch prior to winter break. Timetable requests for grade 11 and 12 students will only be considered for the following reasons: 

  • Course off levelling (ie. Math 20-1 to Math 20-2)
  • Meeting high school graduation requirements
  • Post Secondary admission requirements 

GRADitude Project 

Trellis and Youth Central have partnered to offer The GRADitutde Project which provides free graduation dresses, suits and personal care items to Grade 12 students, ensuring they can enjoy their big day with confidence, no matter their financial situation. 

Have a dress to donate?   Drop off at the Stephen Cleaners locations in Crowfoot, Hamptons, Varsity Acres or West Springs

Volunteer opportunities are available to those wanting to support

Registration is currently open for Calgary-based Grade 12 grads of all genders.  Click here to register and for more information.

Scholarship opportunities are continually updated in the Success Centre D2L Shell. Success Centre also recently posted upcoming scholarship opportunities for December 2024 and January 2025 on our school site listed here, so that families are able to see as well, which includes further information on Students can also access scholarship information through Success Centre D2L shell.

Recovery Alberta Community Education Sessions

Here is an upcoming list of free, virtual educational sessions offered through Recovery Alberta: Can We Talk: Healthy Relationships; Building Resiliency in Today's Youth; and ADHD and Executive Functioning. Click here for more information and to register

 

Lasting Impressions (Hull Services)

Lasting Impressions supports families with children under the age of 18, whose parent/caregiver is dealing with a diagnosed or undiagnosed mental illness and wants to further build skills to manage life experiences and stresses more effectively. The program aims to increase the families’ understanding of their own wellness and mental health needs.
