Grad Photos
Please see the link below to book your grad photo appointment. Please note that there is a sitting fee cost associated with the booking. Grad photos will be taking place in the Upper Learning Commons from Monday, February 10th to 27th.

Athletics
Badminton season is starting soon! There will be a lunch meeting on February 3rd in the DEI room. All are welcome to attend. Tryouts start on the 4th at 5pm.
Basketball boys are hosting games on Thurs Jan 30th against Lord Beaverbrook. Jr’s start at 5:30 and Sr’s at 7:30. Girls teams are hosting games on Feb 4th, Sr’s at 5:30 and Jr’s at 7:30 against Bishop McNally
Spring Sports (Boys soccer – Jr & Sr, Boys Rugby, Girls Rugby, Field Hockey) start on March 10th!
Our Senior Boys Soccer Team is looking for a Community Coach to help the team in their upcoming Spring League Play. Anyone interested can contact Ms. MacWilliam lmmacwilliam@cbe.ab.ca
Year End Textbook returns
Please remind your student that all textbooks, English Language Arts novels, and library books are now overdue and must be returned immediately!
Please note: All unreturned items are marked as ‘lost’ and the fee will appear in your PowerSchool account. The fee will automatically be removed from the account once the item is returned, or payment has been made.

Investing in the Future Award
- This year, the incredibly generous donor is once again offering 10 awards of $100,000 each ($25,000 per year over 4 years)!!!
- This award is available to Grade 12 students in CBE high schools who will be pursuing a 4-year University Degree at a Canadian University (any field of study). Additional details on the award are attached and can be found at https://www.educationmatters.ca/systemwide_awards/investing-in-the-future-award/
- Applications are now open and are due March 31, 2025. Students can apply through EducationMatters’ application portal https://applications.educationmatters.ca/.
- Here, they will register an account they will get an email asking them to “confirm” their account and, from there, they will be able to access the application. Students who already have an account do NOT need to register again. They can simply login to their existing account.
GRADitude Project
- Trellis and Youth Central have partnered to offer The GRADitutde Project which provides free graduation dresses, suits and personal care items to Grade 12 students, ensuring they can enjoy their big day with confidence, no matter their financial situation.
- Have a dress to donate? Drop off at the Stephen Cleaners locations in Crowfoot, Hamptons, Varsity Acres or West Springs
- Volunteer opportunities are available to those wanting to support

BURNS MEMORIAL FUND - HIGH SCHOOL BURSARY FOR GRADE 12 STUDENTS
- This program is for Calgary high school students who are within two semesters of graduating from grade 12 and who have demonstrated financial need. A basic living allowance is provided to assist students in covering expenses such as rent, food and transportation. Attendance and marks are monitored monthly. For more information or to apply, students should connect with their colour community Guidance Counsellor.
Scholarships
- Scholarship opportunities are continually updated in the Success Centre D2L Shell. Success Centre also recently posted upcoming scholarship opportunities for January 2025 and scholarship information presentation on our school site listed here, so that families are able to see as well. Students can also access scholarship information through Success Centre D2L shell.
- Schulich Leader Scholarship information is available now in January 2025 Scholarship Listing! Up to $120 000 awarded over 4 years to qualifying students. Eligible students need to submit Schulich Leadership application. Robert Thirsk High School is able to nominate 1 student. To be considered, students must submit 1-2 page outline to your guidance counsellor by January 22nd, 2025.
