Athletics Update

Volleyball playoffs start next week! Our Jr Girls are Centennial @ 5pm and our Jr Boys play @ Western at 6:30 on Mon Nov 4th. Our Sr Boys play at home Tuesday Nov 5th at 5pm. Go Comets Go!

 

Basketball season is just around the corner! We have 2 open gyms prior to tryouts. Nov 6th and Nov 14th at 7:30am.

 

First day of tryouts are as follows:

-Jr Boys Nov 18th 3pm

-Sr Girls Nov 18th 5pm

-Sr Boys Nov 19th 5pm

-Jr Girls Nov 21st 3pm

Bake Sale and Doors Open: 6:30 pm
Show Begins: 7:00 pm

Because this performance is only one act, the bake sale will continue after the show. Stick around for photo opportunities with the cast in costume.

This year, we are also offering a special Student Matinee on Tuesday December 10th at 3:30 pm for $5.00! Student ID is required to enter.

RTHS Tech 25/35 and Drama 10 students will be putting on a Haunted House on October 30th to raise funds for this year’s grad charity. The themed haunted house, “Midnight Carnival”, will be open at lunch and after school on Wednesday, with only a $2.00 entry fee!

Band Fundraising

Our perigees fundraiser is back!  Please follow the attached instructions to place your orders today.  We are hoping to have the date and time of delivery to be around the first two weeks of December. Specific information will be shared closer to that time.

Success Center

All students are welcome to book appointments to meet with their guidance counsellors in the Success Centre (morning/lunch) or in the main office (afternoon). Students are also welcome to drop in during lunch or Focus without an appointment. Guidance counsellors can support students in academic course planning, wellness support and/or recommending suitable community resources, building academic resilience strategies, scholarship information, post-secondary information, and much more. We also encourage students to regularly check the Success Centre D2L shell for announcements and important information.

MyBluePrint

CBE students can access MyBluePrint by logging in with CBE username and password. Through MyBluePrint, students can compare post-secondary programs across Canada, including tuition costs and high school admission requirements by clicking on 'Post Secondary' in the left hand side bar ' and then 'College and University.' MyBluePrint also tracks students' progress towards completing Alberta high school diploma requirements and students can complete surveys to find career and associated post secondary programs based on their personalized results.

Scholarship opportunities are continually updated in the Success Centre D2L Shell. Youth Employment Centre (City of Calgary)

The City of Calgary Youth Employment Centre (YEC) provides free, in-person drop-in employment services. We offer resume targeting, job search strategies, interview preparation, career planning, connections to employers who are hiring, and more. Youth can drop in between 8:30 AM-5 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Fridays and from 8:30 AM-6 PM on Wednesdays. Youth need their SIN card for initial meeting.
